QR Codes communicate with just a click.
Details: QR (Quick Response) codes, also known as matrix barcodes, are readable by most smartphones. You've probably started noticing them on in-store POP, print ads, and product packaging. This new wave of mobile tagging is aimed directly at consumers. Once a QR Code is scanned with a smartphone (by snapping a picture), it can display a text message or email, generate a coupon for immediate in-store use, or connect directly to a website. The possibilities are endless.
As smartphones become increasingly more common, QR codes will become standard. In fact, pollster Neilson predicts that 1 in 2 cell phones will be a smartphone by the end of 2011.
Uses: Most new smartphones already include the application needed to read QR Codes. Applications can also be downloaded free. Our clients have begun implementing QR Codes in their collateral and point of purchase. From automotive products to garden fertilizers, we are finding new and exciting ways to incorporate this technology.
